Hosting the 2022 World Cup, Qatar is getting ready to receive a great number of visitors in the coming months. But, after all, what documents and vaccines are mandatory in Qatar?
Since 2020, Brazilians with passports valid for at least six months can visit Qatar for tourism, business purposes or be in transit without a visa for up to 90 days. Despite this facility, it is mandatory to present a purchased return ticket.
Check which documents and vaccines are required in Qatar.
Vaccination and Covid test
Anyone who has had a full course of Covid vaccination with two shots from Pfizer, Astrazeneca, Moderna, or a single shot from Janssen must present a negative RT-PCR before boarding. Those who have taken Coronavac will also need to show a negative RT-PCR and also have an antigen test upon arrival in Doha.
The visitor needs to be fully vaccinated, either with both doses or a single dose at least 14 days before the trip and no later than 9 months after the last (or only) dose. For now, a booster dose is not yet required.
Can unvaccinated people travel to Qatar?
Unvaccinated people can also travel to Qatar. However, it is necessary to have a negative RT-PCR test prior to boarding at the origin country, complete the mandatory 5-day quarantine, and have a rapid antigen test on the fifth day.
Health declaration
In addition to all the documentation, anyone traveling to Qatar needs a Declaration of Health to get into the country. The document can be issued on Ehteraz (https://www.ehteraz.gov.qa/PER/), the Qatari government website responsible for issuing the document. First, it is necessary to make a quick registration and then enter all travel info at least 12 hours before departure.
It is also necessary to download the Ehteraz APP on a cell phone and “log in” with the account created on the site so that the local authorities can monitor the staying in Qatar and contact the visitor if necessary. That is why a cellphone with internet is a must have. It is recommended to buy a cellphone chip at the Doha airport.
